Business Immigration Quick Checks
As a multinational company with entities around the world, you depend on a smooth, speedy, and, above all, compliant employee exchange to Germany. To guarantee economically efficient work and quick decision-making, your HR or Global Mobility Department must be able to count on a prompt and legally secure answer as to whether, for example, foreign candidates and the type of permit they are holding can be considered for the further application process in Germany, further, whether a work visa is required for the intended work activity in Germany or whether it is merely a case of business travel, moreover, whether a visa waiver might be considered in exceptional cases, or finally, whether a promotion and the associated change of position trigger the application for a new work permission or merely a notification to the immigration office.
In all these cases, which can be dealt with promptly with a quick check, most large international law firms and management consultancies (the so-called ’’Big Four’’) charge exorbitant fees despite the tense global economic situation and though work slowly due to omnipresent and deliberate staff shortages, both on the part of consultants and attorneys. However, this is by no means necessary.
Take advantage of the following Quick Check legal services and, after submitting all relevant information and documents, receive a written confirmation signed by a business immigration lawyer licensed in Germany within 24 hours regarding the question you have raised. This will protect you against any subsequent inquiries from government authorities. The first three Quick Checks are free of charge.
Permit Quick Check
This leads to the answer to the question of whether the candidate is allowed to work for your company on the basis of the existing permit or whether a separate permit must be obtained from the immigration office. This issue primarily concerns students, spouses, EU Blue Card holders, and Ukrainian citizens whose permit has already at least formally expired.
Please send a scan of the permit (front and back side) and the green supplementary sheet (all front and back sides) of the candidate and you will receive a written confirmation signed by a business immigration lawyer licensed in Germany within a few hours.

This leads to the answer to the question of whether the specific work activity that the employee or leading executive wishes to perform in Germany requires a visa and/or a work permit. If so, a waiver may still be possible. This issue primarily concerns citizens of Andorra, Australia, Israel, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Monaco, New Zealand, San Marino, the United Kingdom, and the United States for specific work activities that need to be reviewed in detail.
Please send a scan of the employee's or leading executive's passport and a detailed job description of the working activity in Germany including its duration, and you will receive a written confirmation signed by a business immigration lawyer licensed in Germany within a few hours.
Fee: EUR 300.00 EUR + 19 % VAT (if applicable)

Please send a scan of the permit (front and back side) and the green supplementary sheet (all front and back sides) of the employee, as well as a detailed job description of the current position and the intended future position, and you will receive a written confirmation signed by a business immigration lawyer licensed in Germany within a few hours.

Early termination notification Quick Check
This fulfills the respective legal obligation of the employer and the employee to submit the legally required notification to the competent immigration authority if the employment relationship ends prematurely before the permit expires. In the event of a violation, a fine of up to EUR 30,000.00 may be imposed.
Please send a scan of the permit (front and back side) and the green supplementary sheet (all front and back sides), as well as information on when the employment relationship ends and whether it is a fixed-term or permanent employment contract. If a notification is necessary, a separate power of attorney from the employer and the employee is also required.
Examination + notification (if necessary) fee:
EUR 150.00 EUR + 19 % VAT (if applicable)
De-registration
This fulfills the employee's obligation to de-register with the relevant registration office when leaving Germany permanently. Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to EUR 1,000.00.
Please send a scan of the permit (front and back side), a signed power of attorney, and information of when and where you will be moving.
Fee: EUR 200.00 EUR + 19 % VAT (if applicable)
Interim permit issuance + Attorney Support Letter
This helps you check whether your employee is eligible for an interim permit, if necessary as part of an emergency appointment with the immigration office, which will allow them to travel and re-enter Germany if their permit has already expired. In an emergency, a lawyer can arrange an expedited appointment with the immigration office to issue the interim permit.
If, on the other hand, there is no emergency but your employee still wishes to travel at short notice without the prospect of being issued with an interim permit, the lawyer can still issue a so-called Attorney Support Letter, which does not guarantee safe departure and entry, but at least makes it more likely.
Please send a scan of the passport, permit (front and back side), green supplementary sheet (all front and back sides), a signed power of attorney, as well as information and, if applicable, documents regarding the reason for the employee’s trip abroad.
Examination fee: 95.00 EUR + 19 % VAT (if applicable)
Fee for booking an emergency appointment and accompanying the employee to the immigration office (only available in Munich): EUR 350.00 + 19 % VAT (if applicable)
Drafting fee for an Attorney Support Letter: 250.00 EUR + 19 % VAT (if applicable)
